Hi Frank,
The two end corrugations have tighter bends than the middle ones, to give what they call an anti capillary seal.
I would have sworn, having fixed a few (right way and wrong way) in my time that they are both the same.

Looking at my deemed to comply manual for "Custom Orb" I see that each end is slightly different. On the underlap edge the arc length is 30-27 and on the overlap it is 2mm longer, being 32-29.
Stuff all really, but even so I would't do it.

Whatever you paint yourself will never be as good as the original finish. Keep the good stuff on top where it belongs.

As an aside, have you picked up on the fact that Lysaghts don't recommend using touch up paint? If it's a small scratch, leave it alone. If it's large, they say change the sheet.
I don't know about changing the sheet, but I've seen enough touch ups that have changed colour and look terrible.

This reply is based on the fact that I worked for Lysaght as a rep and factory manager in charge of a Custom Orb rollformer and was involved in setting it up to make it roll to tolerances.

First of all when rolling Custom Orb there really is no difference in the over or under lap so it can be laid either way. There is a + or - 4mm tolerance on the width of Custom Orb so the overlap will vary by that much.

With the Trimdek profile it was quiet often reverse rolled so that the colour could put on the underside

It will not void the warranty on the Colorbond side.

The only problem with laying with the underside out is that it will fade extensively as it is only what is called a wash coat and that wouldn't be covered under warranty.

I don't have a question of warranty here. The total roof area is only 25 sq M.So, I'm thinking of using the reverse sides which have, as was said, a grey wash and applying 2cts Aluminium paint prior to putting it on. I'm trying to tie the roof colour into the newish iron on our house. At worst, it will be better that what's on there now.
