Default Matching Bricks for an Extension

    Gudday all,

I need to match bricks for an extension. The extension is at the front (road side) of the house so need to match pretty closely. In Victoria who does this. Do they charge a premium?

Alternatively a cointrast such as the 'stacked stone' look is being considered. Has anyone work with this stuff? How good is t to work with and besides the fact that it will date are their any down sides?

Matching bricks is not easy. Best bet is to go and see brick suppliers like Boral/Austral etc and see it they have anything close. But remember that every batch will be different.

No only will you have to match the bricks but mortar colour can be an issue too.

Contemplate doing a section of render with Unitex to contrast as a cost effective solution

Ive always been a fan of 2 or 3 materials/ colours on a house. Big blocks of face brick can be a little boring.

More expensive solutions might be to use say some porcelain tiles, bookleaf stone 30mm cladding on mesh etc on screed render to flatten.

It depends on the match you need and what you have. I had brick that were from a company that doesn't exist anymore and the bricks had yellows, reds, dark blues and browns running through. I didn't get an exact match but I am happy with the result.
