Question Probably a Dumb Question about Wall Insulation

Am currently building an internal wall in a garage which is going to have insulation in it. I had to buy excess wall batts due to the size of the wall being slightly larger than that covered by one pack of batts. Would it be possible to use the excess batts in the wall by using 2 batts in some of the cavities rather than one? And if so is it going to be difficult to install the plasterboard due to the insulation pushing out against the plasterboard?

Gday JMB, would be a waste of time, the insulation works by trapping air & preventing the transfer of heat/cold. Squashing more batts in the given space will not trap any more air.

I'm not sure that scooter is right about no change, the extra mass of batt must do something it would depend how much the extra mass is offset by crushing the air spaces in the batt. However I do agree with his view that it would be a total waste of time possibly causing trouble by packing the cavity to tight and upsetting the plasterboard.
