Replacing Verandah Post
I have this metal verandah post that i would like to replace with wood. I am making a new privacy screen in merbau and want to use a 90mm merbau post in place of the old pole. The old pole is screwed into the beams like shown below.
First is a 90mm merbau post ok to use. The overhang is about 1.5mx1.5m. Are laminated posts OK.
Second, how to connect to the roof? The roof is flat so hard to get in.
