    Default deck between brick walls

I am building a deck between 2 brick walls of existing house. The deck is about 1.8m off the ground. I want to fasten the bearers directly to the wall rather than brick up piers or put additional stumps near the wall. There is only one stump between the the 2 walls for each bearer. I plan on fastening a 240*45 treated pine (say 1m long) with galvanised concrete screws to the wall for each bearer. Then screw additional 90*45 to this to give 90mm width and sit the bearer directly on it (maybe fasten with a bracket). Will this pass building surveyor inspection OK?

Are your bearers running perpendicular to the walls?

Just get some heavy duty brackets from a decent hardware, or order them from Big Gee. You can even turn them upwards to be covered by the bearer if you wanted.

    Nice and neat.
