    Default Gyprock Multi purpose joint compound

    Hi I have a tub of Gyprock Multi Purpose Joint Compound about 5 years old ti remain unopened until yesterday it is still soft however not soft enough to use,Can it be mixed with water or some other substance to rejuvenate or should I just buy a new tub

    Ideally they should be used as is however i have added water in the past to old tubs or even to fresh tubs that were to dry for my liking.
    They are air dry compounds and will just take longer to dry, also you may get a bit more shrinkage.

    the problem may be that the top will be dry with the underneath still moist.
    this will give you a streaky finish, unless you can get it ultra smooth its gone to the bin I'm sure.

    AN update, the tub was not useable it had soft a dry patches through out and was not worth the bother
