    Default 2017 entry for awtex

    Hi guys , this is one of my 2017 awtex entries ,
    A hollow form from gum burl , very brittle and
    lots of viens and voids , i didn, t think it would
    hold together , anyway got a third for this one
    very happy , any comments and advice apprciated
    as always

    Thanks jim , already started on a few Ideas I have ,
    I normally make a prototype or 2 first .......

    Smiife, I have been known to do up to four "prototypes", before I was satisfied with the design.

    Yes I can verify that statement - you should see the prototypes that PP isn't satisfied with. Most turners would be over the moon and very pleased with the outcome, but then that is why Jim has won so many Firsts and Best in Shows - getting the last few percent perfect, well more perfect than any other turner can do..

    Smiffie, congratulations on the placing in AWTEX very nice piece.
