Ash Bowl
I picked up some Ash at a steam rally from a man who was demonstrating a engine driven saw, see very short video of it being cut
I cut it into blanks and stored it. I did take a couple of pieces out after 6 months and hid it in the top of the airing cupboard for 6 weeks(don't tell the wife)
This bowl is one of the bits I was pleased at the grain I found inside as it did not show anything promising before turning.
Measures 8 3/4" X 1 3/4"
I have just been having a play with the camera set up and hope these show the finish a bit better.

Thank you Keith. The guys in the video get use to me hanging around as they cut the wood so I can get the best pickings of what looks best for my turning work
I chose this profile as I find it can slightly lighten the look of a bowl with a wide rim

Beautifully done Dalboy!!!
Sometime relatively plain timbers have surprising grain patterns when turned, as you have shown here.
I was a bit stunned by the video. Safety did not seem to be a big consideration.
The piece falling off the table and onto the driving belt sent a shiver down my spine!!
