How about making 1 yourself.
Find a large Washer, buy a Nut from a bolt & nut supplier. & just weld it to the washer.
Your Electricity Linesman would have what you want in a Washer, as they are 3in. wide, with a 1in. hole, & would be at least 1/4in. thick.
So that is 75mm. x 25mm. x 6mm.
I had a few when I used to use them, but I'm a Chuck Man now, & mine are 1in. x 8TPI.

If you can find a small local engineering shop ( usually just a one man band ) they should be able to knock one up for you at a reasonable cost. and you can get them to make it the size you want. Having said that the simple face plates available from places like http://www.craft-supplies.co.uk/ and http://www.rutlands.co.uk/ aren’t that expensive.

Sounds like your are after a low cost solution so why not turn one up from a peice of timber or ply here is one way to do it

Carbatec might have a cheapie in 3/4 x 16 or they did have some adaptors, 3/4 x16 internal 1 x 10 external and cheap faceplates to suit.
The thread on a Ford Falcon oil filter (AFL1, Ryco Z9) is 3/4 x 16 if you want to make light duty faceplates or other holding jigs.
