    Default Blackwood vase

As you might guess from the photo's, this vase was turned from a rather ugly piece of crotch wood with a large internal void, rot and grub holes. While I don't like the piece of wood determining the shape I turn, this piece certainly his certainly told me what I couldn't do. While pieces like this are a bit tricky to turn and generally take quite a bit of sanding I think the end result is worth it.
Vase is 130 mm tall by 120 wide and hollowed through the neck. Finish with Rustins Danish Oil and buffed with eee.

I think the shape of the body is close to heart shape.
