Numbers on chuck jaws
This one is just out of interest.
I bought some additional jaws for my SuperNova chuck and when I put them on for the first time I couldn't see any numbers on them. I found the jaws didn't quite line up, so I had a closer look at the jaws and found the numbers. When I put them on the right sliders, the jaws did line up.
My question is, why is there a difference in the individual jaws? I can understand the sliders being different at the bottom, but wouldn't it make sense for them to be the same at the top, so the jaws can all be same?

Hi Reinier
The Nova Jaws like most scroll chuck jaws are machined as one piece and then cut into four pieces, keeping them in the correct order should ensure proper alignment of the four pieces when mounted to the chuck. Like most things mechanical, they only fit properly in the right order. Hope this helps.
