    Default found a small wood lathe - help ID'ing it?

    G'Day,
    I came across this small wood lathe (minus the bed) and was hoping someone may know more about it...

    it appears that the missing bed is either a solid square section, or a thick walled square tube. The faceplate screws onto the spindle with a normal v thread. The tailstock ram moves via a ribbed wheel, and there appears to be a socket or threaded hole in the ram.

    The only markings on the headstock are RL -180 and the letters EWR. The castings are cast iron or cast steel.

    The face plate is 100mm (4') diameter, and the spindle height is roughly 80mm above the bed.

    You might look at all the photos of wood lathes here to see if any match: Machine Tool Archive

    The bed is most likely to be square tubing. It appears that the tubing would fit into the head stock but would need a pedestal on the right end. If the hole in the tail stock is tapered, it would likely hold Morse Taper 1 accessories, possibly MT 2. Same applies to the head stock. I see what appears to be threads in the inside of the head stock spindle. If threaded and not tapered, it would need a specific drive center for between centers spindle turning. If threaded inside the tail stock, same would apply.

    If you own the lathe and want to tinker, proceed. If offered for sale you might politely decline.

    EDIT: While having some lunch and thinking about the lathe, the thought came , NO TOOL REST! If you do not have one, it will be difficult to find or make one to fit the square tube bed set on edge. The head stock could be made into a disk sander by fitting a plywood disk to the faceplate.
    So much timber, so little time.
