Help with a second hand lathe.
Hi, though I have had experience in the past with woodturning but I'm not too familiar with the machines themselves.
I purchased an aldi one second hand a few years ago and have used it once. It's just taking up space. It's junk..
I have the opportunity to buy a Durden L500 for around $500.
Is this worth it or keep looking?
Matti

The Lathe.
Hi Matti,
Personally I think you should keep your $500 & keep an eye out for something a bit better.
Not sure if it is the same Model, but years a school had a Durden & you had to use a hunk of wood to stop the belt from slipping, & even then it was hopeless.
Your Money, but I think you can do better.Regards,
issatree.
