[HELP] Lathe tailstock spindle spinning...
Hey members,
So i'm new here and have a Woodfast M408s wood lathe. I I was boring out some end grain and then the tailstock spindle began spinning as the forstner bit jammed into the workpiece. I think that a small pin inside the tailstock (Used to keep the spindle in position) has been sheared off as I have found metal shards at the base of the tailstock.
I have briefly looked for a replacement tailstock but to no avail...
Any suggestions to fix this issue will be much appreciated.

Wind the quill completely out and inspect, most likely just need to replace the pin. may have to remove the keeper plate so as to remove the threaded shaft

Hi Steve , next time you might want to hold on to your jacobs chuck when winding it in and go very slowly, clearing shavings as you go ,hope this helps
