Jarrah and resin embellished platter
Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen
In November this year, Neil Wright (Dai Sensai) visited WA and did some resin work in my workshop. In the process of educating me in the finer points of resin, he was able to demonstrate repairs, and thus save some of my cracked Timbers. I was impressed.
So, I was given a very large Jarrah slab which unfortunately had some drill holes in it. I was able to cut some 600mm blanks from it, but what do to with the holes. With guidance from Neil, I took to it with a Dremel and TCT bit and drilled random holes. I subsequently filled these with a turquoise and mica resin. I also took the opportunity to fill gum vein voids as well. Pretty happy with the way it turned out. Finished with 10 coats of DO
Thanks for looking
Willy
