Nice to see that the kids have some decent eye protection, just the type I'm looking for, where did you find them please??? They look the ticket to go over my glasses.
The kids look to be thoroughly enjoying themselves, just hope they keep up with the hobby.

When I had a shed and when MiniArcher 'helped' me in the shed, I purchased some kid size safety glasses from OS. Can't remember where. But I did find these https://www.bunnings.com.au/eyeshiel...asses_p5820860
Those were the droids I was looking for.

Thanks Tony. Reasonably priced too. Wonder if they do pink (Sammy's favourite colour)

Love the way you're getting the kids involved in your hobby; they certainly look like they're really enjoying it! Good to see that they're all "playing" nicely together too; no squabbling or grabbing or anything, it's a testiment to good upbringing!

Can't recall ever seeing wood being held on a centre on a drill press before; I must admit it did make me feel a bit uneasy but seeing as the press is very low powered the risk of the workpiece being grabbed and flung around is pretty miniscule. Have you ever thought about making a wooden vise? THIS ONE uses all-thread, and THIS ONE needs a donor G-clamp but looks much more professional.

Looking forward to seeing them on the lathe; keep encouraging them and imagine how proud they'll be with the finished result at Show-N-tell in a few years time!

    Thanks Chief Tiff.

The wooden clamp would be a good project with the kids.

Drill is grossly underpowered IMHO. My 18v battery drill has more grunt. One day it will get a boost or the boot.

The timber in the base and drilking method .... some don't like it but there is a method behind my madness. Down the track I will do a thread and video on 'why' I do it that way. Stay tuned [emoji6]

Im sorting the cave this very moment and hope to get the kids on the lathe either tomorrow or Sunday

Kids wanted to do shields instead. Stay tuned for pens. They say the pen is mighty than the sword so nit sure how the sheilds will help lol

Till help Tyler start his own thread on the sheilds during the week. Been a while since he has posted. He may even be able to do all the writing himself now.
