What knot to do
At the club the other night there were a few lathes not being used
so I had a quick look in the "scrap heap". Some offcuts of Cypress Pine
with knots were begging to be converted into something useful.
They have added to my magnetised needle cases collection and are
ready for our next exhibition and sale day.

Thank you Bluegum - some people throw away knotted wood - I like to work with it.
The finish is Ubeaut Shellawax - very reliable on small items like this.
I tell newcomers to look on Bunnings shelves for Cypress Pine pickets - they are about
19mm thick, have amazing grains and knots and are ideal for pens and needle cases...
and, most of all they are cheap.
