    Default "laochra aingeal

I have been wanting to make a piece that reflects my heritage " Celtic" I'm Scottish, Irish, Welch and English. I started this piece back in December it's 90% hand carved after turning the main body on the lathe. I'm calling this one "laochra aingeal" (angel warriors)
11" W x 12" T Sapele & Sterling Silver. I did take some help from a Dremel on this piece grinding away some large bits w/ a 60 grit drum sander, the rest I carved w/ the same tools I used on my other pieces and I got two new sets of carving tools for Christmas. Also for Christmas I got a new camera and some lighting I'm still learning how to use the equipment. C&C always welcome.

    Excellent piece.

OT: My only suggestion is a bit of post processing of the photos could bring out the details, especially in the angel, e.g. have a look at ON1 Raw, or Affinity Photo e.g. https://youtu.be/t__rw3EjC18 or for free Raw Therapee which is good but not as easy to drive.

You have more patience than a segmented woodturner, beautiful piece of work.

    fantastic work there Splinterz
I'm trying to improve my photography too. The lighting is really annoying me! I'm gonna try outdoors with natural light I think.

I liked that as soon as I saw it, even more after reading the story. I too am of Scottish descent.

Thank you very much Jim I'm not sure very many are feeling the same way about this piece or they just don't know what to say at all.
