    Default Lazarus.

Why Lazarus? I found this piece of wood buried in the garden, it has been there for 38 years, since we built our house. two weeks ago, while digging the soil Preparing the Veggie Patch "Yes Guys Down Under is Spring time" I must have dug dipper than usual and I found This piece of wood that still had a nail in it,
after all these years together I did not have the courage to separate them, so I left the nail in the wood. Not wanting to take away from the beauty of the wood I turned 2 simple shallow Bowls
The wood is Vic Ash the same wood used for the frame of the house.
finished with three layers of polyurethane.

    Cheers Tony.

I thank the help of insects that helped in the design and Carvings on wood.

They look great. Timber certainly doesn't look like the Vic Ash we get nowadays.

Tony this is a great idea. I love the way that you had respect for this timber in it's "natural habitat".

I can hardly believe how shallow your recess was to turn these - you're a brave man!

Thanks bassmansimon, the recess is 3mm, I wasn't that brave, I used the tailstock to help hold it till almost the end,

    Cheers Tony,
