Little'un
Finished this one today from a bit of scrap from another piece I finished the other day. I love turning these spontaneous pieces, I think they're better than intended ones. Anyway, I'm experimenting with lidded boxes at the moment, specifically playing around with form. I'm gaining inspiration from Chris Stott and Richard Raffan. Ultimately I'd like to develop my own style. I'm a minimalist and I think this is reflected in my work so far. I don't think you'll see much in the way of embellishments from me.
Anyway, this is a piece of Jacaranda from Mapleman (sorry artme), 48mm high by 50mm wide. It's sanded to 400, friction polished and completed with nitrocellulose lacquer. I hope you like. Comments and critiques more than welcome.

Hey Scott,
great looking little piece there. If you are playing around with small boxes have a go at this one, it is a Chinese Hat box (the lid is meant to look like a Chinese hat)
The little ones are more fun I reckon,
cheers Ben

What's not to admire about that Scott? Beautifully done!!!
I love the subtle grain patterns you find in Jacaranda, and it shows best
in smaller pieces.
Like the Chinese hat box too Ben!!
