    Default Maple bowl

A platter come bowl 325mm diameter and 65mm deep, made from Queensland maple. I got this piece of maple from John Goyne about two years ago. I has some very nice fiddle back pattern in it. Maple would have to be one of my favourite timbers and to get a piece with patterns like this is a real pleasure. It had a coat of sanding sealer followed with two coats of sprayed lacquer.

I like that a lot Jim. Great piece of wood, nice shape and beautifully finished.

Is that from the blank you showed me last visit?

Top shelf as always doing justice to a superb piece of wood.

Geoff, that is part of the slab I got when we picked up that silver ash.
