The one that nearly got away
Following from the Charity/comp thread here is the bowl that was kindly given to me by Artme for me to "finish off"
Well i thought the other day i had finished it off permanently but thought well if i'm going to have a go at salvaging this was the ideal oportunity.
So out with the Araldite (24 hour stuff) and the marsking tape

Left for a couple of days then checked and it was straight enough so thought here goes.

I left the tape omn the outside (hoping to limit the peices that hit my head) and cleaned the inside up and finished it off.

Turned it over and removed the tape

Then finished off the bottom - the only peice i lost from the original size was the top 10mm of the rim as it lost a peice when it broke and didnt look that good so i trimmed it down a bit.

Next i mounted it to finish off the base and gave it a foot to sit on

So the finished bowl just about 10mm lower than original and with a couple of feature lines in it.

Wow, good save!
I didn't know you could do that. One exploded on me the other day and I just gave up on it.
It looks good! Too good to have let it go, hey!

That's a stunning recovery, Dave. Especially the re-assembly from lost parts.

From the pix, if you hadn't told us it'd been in pieces I wouldn't have picked it.
And to keep it so close to original lines afterwards? Great save!
