Neighbourhood wood ID please
Neighbour chopped down a tree and kindly let me take some. The leaves (actually not those in the photo) were definitely some kind of eucalyptus. Does anyone recognise this from the bark? It’s in Perth so I’m thinking tuart or karri, but no gum seams at all so thinking not karri. Timber is a lightish brown. Thanks! Swifty
oh, the white is paint of course!Swifty

Looking at descriptions for tuart, and the reference to tightly interlocking grain, I’m feeling a bit more confident that’s what it is. Can anyone tell me if it turns well? There’s some nice big blanks in there! Cheers Swifty
