Quick resurrection of an older post.
I have just been looking at: https://carvingtoolsaustralia.com/st...set-220v-10116
and was wondering if anyone else has used this tool, or knows anything about it.
It looks quite versatile as it looks to do a lot more than just sand, however it does have hefty price tag.

Even if you are in a position of "cost is of no object", take a long look t everything in the set and have a think about "will I ever use this piece". I used one of these for years: https://www.harborfreight.com/38-in-...uck-63119.html and had good service using bought and home made sanding mandrels. https://www.amazon.com/Sanding-Mandr...79084013&psc=1
When I asked too much of the drill and broke the gear I bought another, It had light use and started sparking at the brushes within 6 months. Look at what is available locally and hold it, while thinking how it would sand the inside of a bowl.
If you really like the Merlin, consider just the tool and specific accessories that you immediately need.So much timber, so little time.

I've used various components of the Arbortech kit, which works OK.
