Record CL5 wood lathe..belt replacement
The drive belt on the lathe needs to be replaced and am not sure as to the recommended method of extracting the shaft (part way only).
Have found a manual for the CL3 , but it has a bronze bearing not a roller bearing as on the CL5.It appears that the shaft should pull out forewards and that the thread for the chuck could be used to pull it out.
However would like to know correct approach.
Does anyone have one of these?

hi Paddy. I don't have a CL5 but the DMLs have roller bearings. Would a manual for these be any help? If so or if it's worth a try send a pm with your email address and I'll send one in pdf format.
Cheers,
Jim

Hi Jimbur
Gave the back end of the shaft a sharp tap with a bronze drift and the roller bearing at the front moved out of the housing and I was able to swap over the belts. Apparantly the CL5 was also sold under the name Coronet No 1 in the UK. Could not find any reference to CL5 on the internet.
Thanks for your offer, but OK now.
