If it comes off and Armidale is within your sights.....sing out and I could come up....being as close as that, I would make the trip. Just to catch up.....and show me where I am going wrong.

PS Here is a thought....my brother lives in Armidale and he has only ever used a metal work lathe. If you were up for a challenge you could show him the basics. By the way he's left handed. Hence the challenge
    Just do it!

    Kind regards Rod

Lefties are usually better turners, because they can usually use both hands

Started a thread with Robbos arrival at my place

He not long left. Hope to keep appraised of the rest of his travels.

I have to add more pics etc of his time here. Have only done one post so far bit more to come. Like drinking at the high chair.

    Hey
If you are travelling down the Pacific Highway, hope you call on out to Artisans for a cuppa!
Only 10 mins off the highway near Taree
    Cheers

Intended itinerary for week 2. This may be altered depending on requests.

Leave Gold coast on Monday and amble down Pacific Hwy visiting some friends to Ozartisans place.

From there across to Smiifes place at Armidale for the weekend session.

Then down to Sydney via Scone. More details next week.

Is always welcome a second visit.

Now I have a tuned lathe and sharpening jig set up. May even have a temporary shop set up within a week.

I'd be tempted to keep you to myself for more personal benefit - is that bad

After a great weekend at Gold coast Woodturners I headed south and had lunch with Stan and Noeline from Billinudgel woodworks.

Next port of call is a friend in Woolgoolga and then on to Peters at Artisans on the hill for a cuppa and chat.

It is a hard life but someone has to do it.

While you are sight seeing on the way to Taree you could also call in at the Bird Tree (Tree Register : National Register of Big Trees) not far off the Hwy just past Kew.

    Travel safe mate

The rest of the itinerary. Can be subject to change.

Leave Tinonen for Armidale on Thurs morning.

Saturday and Sunday at smiifes place unless he gets sick of me. He has asked for others to attend if you are in the area. https://www.woodworkforums.com/f8/rob...le-nsw-178964/

From Smiifes place heading to Sydney via Tamworth, Muswellbrook and Scone but can deviate if requested.

A day or two in Sydney, then Nowra and Canberra.
