RS Spiral and Texture cutter
I have been looking at the Robert Sorby Spiraling Tool and the Texturing Tool. They look to be the same tool with an addition of a guide plate to the Spiraling version.
The RS Spiraling System comes with 4 cutters. Are these the same cutters used by the Texturing tool version?
Is it in effect the same tool, just used without the guide plate, and in a different orientation?

The texturing wheel is the same size as the spiralling heads just the way they are ground. You need the guide plate to do any spiralling where as the texturing wheel is used without. I have the full kit so I am able to do both.
The spiraling heads get a little getting use to and the right type of wood is needed a bit like threading tools.
This is an example I did with the spiralling tool and also the texturing tool
