To complete the job correctly you require a fixture that can hold the cutter at the required angle while also being rotated, when presented to the grinding wheel/belt
any one who has a T&C grinder could do it easily, you can also make a device to use on a bench grinder fairly simply.

Not familiar with the tool, but do the cutters have a bevel on both faces, or is one face essentially flat with a bevel on the other?

Thanks for the replies, the outer face is flat while the inner is beveled into the centre and held in place by a screw.

I leave the cutter on the tool and use a diamond hone on the bevel to sharpen.Been doing this for years, it gives a razor sharp edge.

I'm not familiar with the cutter you are asking about. Is it a steel cutter, or is it carbide? ............ Jerry (in Tucson) USA

The Tormek system allows you to do this. Anyone with the SVD 186 or the superseded SVD 185 jig can follow these instructions and bingo.

I've been doing my brothers bits for a couple of years.

Page 9 and 10 of this PDF will see you right.
