Thread: face shield

I have the 3M Versaflo, work bought it for me.
They do come up secondhand from time to rime, I picked up a secondhand complete Versaflo face sheild for $50 never been used.
All new similar ones are plus $2000.

During covid I couldn't buy filters, luckily I found some on ebay.

Dustmaster full face shield with battery and charger.

any thoughts on this, I cant find much on the net. selling S/H $500 supposedly $1200 new

Just had a look on Facebook market place and the Adflo welding helmet packs are fairly cheap, but might need new battery packs?

I had a dustmaster unit, good unit, you can still get filters through Blackwoods and ebay.
They run on 3 D size rechargeable batteries, it cost me $75 to replace them last time.
Did you have any photos to see condition of it?

My fan is called "4 inch inline booster fan". I can't read all the details on the plate without pulling the thing off the wall, which I'me not going to do .Just search on ebay and you will find pleanty of similar units .If I was going to replace it I would probably go for a slightly bigger unit .
The fan is connected to PVC tubing which gets the air to about a metre above and behind me then connected to flexable 35mm tubing which is used for inbuilt house vacuum cleaning systems .The tubing is about 5 metre long so it rests on the floor , then comes up to the helmet and is supported by a belt round my waste.

I have something along these lines, I have Whirly Bird on the roof that I have added a 150mm cabinet fan underneath in the shed, and I have 6" flexible Ali ducting with an inline fan in the middle and the whole thing hangs over the big lathe and runs up to the Whirly bird.
