Default Turning a sphere inside a cube

Thinking about doing something along this line, anyone have had experience of this?

Sort of, will have a proper look at that article.
    Interesting article, give some ideas.
Was thinking of making a tool, like a bowl saver, but only cutting into the timber 45 degrees on each side.

I turned this in my "Ice Chuck" - a tin can on a faceplate filled with frozen water, seizing the workpiece. The ice secures the captive element, especially for the sixth cut. To fine tune the ball, I sanded the 8 corners with a miniature belt sander. For further refinement, I set the cube on a platform above the lathe bed, and executed a final sanding using a jam chuck to pinch the ball between the headstock and the tailstock.

I rounded the corners of the cube on a router table.

    Cheers,
    Joe

Thanks Joe, I thought of using expanding foam to hold the sphere in place for the last cuts, but the ice might be better.
