    Default sugar bowls

    G'day
Picked up some cut glass bowls at a garage sale .7for $10.Was just going to make lids for them, but decided to make some little cut outs for a spoon with the dremel and call them sugar bowls. I feel that items that are functional, often have an edge over those that are purely decorative.
The lids are 125mm diam. and the finish is DO.The timbers are, starting from back left and going clockwise, pepercorn, red cedar and cypress.
    Comments welcome.

Cute. You could make them retro kitch by turning some balls for the feet

Throw the glass bowls out mate and turn some of your wood bowls to suit.
Looks like silk purses on sows ears to me.

    Ted,

well done (as usual). A great use of 'what you see'. A pity I did not get to come and say hello when I was in Sydney.

    cheers

These appeal to me, as I also look out for bowls that have lost the lids (or lids without their bowl) and repurpose them. Some people are not so sure, but they seem to sell well enough to make it worthwhile.
