Vermec Sphere Jig - Trouble shooting
Hi guys,
Just picked up a vermec sphere jig, purchased for my nova 16-44 lathe, set it up to the height as per the instructions.
Gave it a quick go, seems to be Turing out of round balls. Has anyone had this happen and what am I doing wrong? IMG_5390.jpg
Thanks BenRegards Ben

Problem solved, if you have a swivel head lathe the head must be dead straight. mine was probably out half a mill

Ben, even though it wasn't the absolutely round sphere you were trying to make, it still looks pretty good. It's good you found the problem that was an easy fix............ Jerry (in Tucson)USA

One hint with the jig, rough the sphere/ hollow first with traditional tools.
I managed to break the cutting bit with a touch too cutting depth in dry Redgum.Pat
