Default vicmarc vl300 EVS digital speed readout panel

First time posting on this forum. Not rubbing it in anyone's face, but very excited to announce that i'm a new vicmarc vl300 owner, finally the dream comes true . it's the old 2hp version EVS with the thicker stand. Lathe was bought by previous owner but never used, it was still on the delivery pallet with the protective coating from vicmarc.

    issue:
i can now turn the machine ON which was bit of a trick at the beginning. but the problem is where i can find more information about the actual "Digital speed readout" panel , on how to operate it and what all these different codes and program on it work !

tried to look in the manual available on vicmarc website but doesnt explain about it. this panel includes the RUN ; STOP; PRG/RESET; Func/Data buttons.

Can anyone help please. much appreciate it.

The factory presets are very good, it is best left alone.

Some like to fiddle with them but finish up making it a dogs breakfast.

If there is something wrong with the setup call vicmarc and they will be only too pleased to help

    What Jim said.

To change any of the 90 plus factory set parameters, you need the code to unlock the keypad.

This is to prevent users from stuffing up the settings.

My advice is to leave the factory settings alone.

The only time I changed a factory setting was to remove the electronic braking in my VL 100.

    Cheers

i will call vicmarc tomorrow. it's just i'm getting weird readings on the panel. the belt is set to 1:1 ratio according to the manual. but the reading starts from 1.0 on dial#1, and keep increasing until it gets to max 100.0 on dial#11.
so i'm not getting the proper readout from 30-3000 on 1:1ratio. i will post the update from vicmarc though.

    cheers jim

You have changed the readout on the keypad.

To show the speed readout of 30-3000RPM press the FUNC/DATA button 3 times.

With the speed set to 0 on the control the display should read 30.

Wind the speed control up to maximum and it should read 3000.

You don't need to have the lathe running to do this

This button changes what information is displayed but won't change the actual information until you unlock the keypad with the correct code.

Again I strongly suggest you don't try to change the factory settings

    Cheers

Congrats on the lathe purchase. I have recently purchased a Vicmarc myself. I am sure you will be very happy with it.
