    Hmm, they must have changed the casting, can’t exactly remember but I’m pretty sure I knocked mine out with a drift. Seem to recall that mine has a cutout top and bottom or the hole was bigger and that I was able to angle the drift to able to bare directly on the back edge of the bearing cup

    Bearing replacement tools arrived. Now I’ve replaced the entire housing and bearing I now know what the sound of a new vl300 sounds like it’s smoooth compared to how it’s sounded of late. Fantastic, can’t wait to get back to turning soon

    Yeah, if you can't get close to the description name Googling isn't all that friendly at times.
