    Default A Good Week

Had a good week in the shed and managed a few turned items the first is 10 bird houses made from the many offcuts I can't bear to throw out, many of you know the little pile in the corner. These are 3 3/4" to 5" tall.

Next is a clock, using one of the mechanism which I found a few lurking in my projects box, never seems to empty, this is made with English Walnut. Measures 7 1/2" X 1 1/2"

Then another piece of Walnut which i rough turned last year from some logs that seemed to have jumped into the car as I was passing. Measures 11" diameter

Finally this bowl is made from an unknown piece of wood that did not want to be left on it's own when the walnut hitched a ride. Measures 8 1/2" X 2 1/4"

I have been working on this in between doing other bits today that is after the one where the lid decided to do the splits.

Made from London plane with a Laburnum insert in the lid it stands 2 3/4" X 2 1/4". Still need to make 4 more well there is always tomorrow.

This is the longest I have played in the shed for a long time.

    Default Been busy

Looks like you have had a great time creating a pile of shavings. I rather like the lidded box, and some of the found timber was well worth stopping to collect.
It is very satisfying getting back into the workshop after a bit of a break, especially when you have a bit of a flair for design as you have demonstrated.

    Happy turning,

    Alan...
