    Default Weisyboy/mic-d chisel handles

Never thought I would be starting a thread in the woodturning section, I don't even own a lathe

I bought some old chisels at a market a while ago with the intention of restoring them to building duties. I asked around a few woodturners but Carl did them for nix in return of a favour (you can't argue with that) Conveniently, I broke my good sledgehammer handle a few days ago, so it has been reborn as chisel handles. We think it is hickory. Carl whipped up the handles on his lathe, I made the hoops out of some pipe, there's a bit of what they're made out of in one of the photos. There is a Ward, Charles Taylor and unmarked mongrel chisel for large framing work and a fine Swan paring chisel that I'm yet to tidy up but will be for bench duties only.

    Thanks Carl.
    Cheers
    Michael
