    Default Door Architrave

Here is a shot of my front door
Do you think it will be ok when architraved and painted architraves
Or do you think it would look better with weather boards butted
up to door architraves. Its a lot of work for weather board pieces so small..

    Open to ideas???

It's too late to do anything about it now, because you would have needed to install an internal corner weatherboard stop. I personally wouldn't bother with it now. How wide are the archs?

So there will be a strip about what, 60-70mm between the arch and the weatherboards? You probably wont even notice it once it's been painted

If you are really keen you could scribe the ends of the weather boards to fit, but I wouldn't bother.
What does it look like above the door.

Well, you could use one of those. Or you can use a bit of 1" square timber. I made mine from Zincalume. One thing in common: they all need to go in before hanging any boards and you butt the boards up to them.

You can scribe the boards in, that's the alternative to using a stop, but it's a lot of work and needs practice.
