Looking at roller shutters for western windows
The long side of my lounge faces west and year after year I say I need to do something to shade the three large second storey windows (2100high by 2400 wide). As we have a nice view towards the Brindabellas (mountains in Canberra) I don't want to compromise that too much...several years ago put in reflective tint and that really helped (excellent privacy during the day also) but it is getting hotter and hotter so need to go the next step. (this week I have recorded several afternoons of 40 degrees and higher - and that is with the curtains closed and the doors open). Front design of the house does not accommodate canvas awnings etc and I don't really like those anyway because they clutter the architecture. Am considering electric roller shutters. As I see it I need to shade the glass when the sun is on it.
Any comments please about this solution and hints for reliable and fairly priced ACT suppliers. (Not the dodgy bros). Also any ball park cost estimates? Thanks!
