prefab door frames with architraves.
I would like to prefab all my door jambs and I am thinking of also doing the architraves as well. So a few questions:
Would it be safe to say that all the doors that I get (new) would be correct in size. All the doors will be solids.?
Would it be ok to cut all members of the architraves for both sides?
Could I fix off one of the architraves to the jamb before installing?
The only thing that I think I would have to allow for would be the flooring levelness so a few extra mm on the bottom of the jambs to be trimmed would suffice?
I will be making some steel jigs for the hinge rebates. The doors are going into a new house.
Or it is one jamb, to suit one door and once the door is swung in the frame then cut architraves to suit.
