Help with quoting first fix carpentry
Hi guys,
Im nearing the end of my carpentry apprenticeship and was hoping to get some insight to the art of quoting - first fix especially but also second fix.
Working for a boss i dont really get to know how he calculates the prices he does but am privy sometimes to the overall price. I know there are separate prices for lwr frames, flooring and upper frames and roof.
I dont have any real overheads at the moment so working out a min hourly/day rate is difficult. When starting out, whats the best way to start the quoting process and come up with a day/hrly/square meter rate.
I know its a broad question but i need something to start with. I dont want to go in quoting a million dollars but dont want to work for nothing. Any insight would be appreciated.
