Been a while since I posted anything here but I haven't been sitting idle, I just keep forgetting to take photos of items I make and then they're gone. This box incorporates a lid panel that I experimented with after doing one of these panels some years ago when one of our club members did a demo for us. The one at the club was made into a serving board (for want of a better name) and about 20mm thick. This panel I made 8mm thick to keep the weight down. The first one I made incorporated a number of mistakes including inaccurate cutting and incorrect orientation of the segments. It's amazing what you don't notice until you come back the next day to unclamp and admire your work, and then comes the disappointment. I had a second go and the result was much more pleasing so it got put in to this box. Accuracy is definately king when doing these panels as any inaccuracies are just compounded as you glue the segments together.

Very nice box Dallas, well done. They are not easy those type lids. A few years ago I bought the plans for a full box made like that. I ended up making two, sold them, but never again.
Great job,
Paul
