ANDREW CRAWFORD AT THE PERTH WOOD SHOW

Andrew Crawford the acclaimed British boxmaker and author will be the Artist in Residence at the Perth Wood Show from August 6th to 8th. The Fine Wood Work Association of Western Australia who host the Out of the Woods Exhibition at the show will be organising a special box competition with a first prize of $1000 (2nd - $300, 3rd - $200) which Andrew will judge. The competition is open to all wood workers. Andrew will also be presenting a one day box making workshop on Sunday, August 15th in Perth. More details about the one day boxmaking workshop with Andrew Crawford.
When: Sunday 15 August from 9am to 5pm.
Where: Pickering Brook ( 45 minutes east of Perth)
What: This one day workshop will cover - conversion of stock, simple joints,
veneering panels, bookmatching, gluing up, and cutting off the lid. Particular
attention will be given to perfect inlaying, mitring edge-banding, fitting
of hardware, finishing and lining.
Cost: $35 members of FWWA , $65 others (visitors welcome, for the general public the day’s workshop will cost $65 and places will be available from 1 March by registering your name with the Secretary Terry Mercer by email (merclid@iinet.net.au )
Includes Morning and afternoon tea refreshments. Cameras welcome.

The Box competition of the Out of the Woods Exhibition (Perth Wood Show from August 6th to 8th) is also open to entries from the general public and has a first prize of $1000. So if you have made a box that you are proud of and want to show off get involved, details from the curator curator_fwwa@westnet.com.au
