Got the sides cut now and sanded ready for dying to pop the figure with a finish. Notice how the corner slices now reduce in size as they go up the sides.

Looking Good.
Actually you could have cut the sides on the work centre. If you are making it the size given in the instructions it will fit underneath in the overhead mode.

Didn't think of that, but now I have an Incra TSLS fence system on my Triton I don't want to disturb it as it's accurate and reliable but I see your point. It was not too much of a problem on the band saw.

Started on the lid now, a nice tight fit of the ol 45 degrees and soon on the verneer for the inlay panel.

Here are the veneers I'm using I got them from River Gum, as you can see two types, one mertle burl and the other a mertle tiger burl. I show the veneer and how I glued and came out with the top panels, now to make the inlay border.

Started to make the inlay banding for the lid today. I cut over size in thickness and then used my thicknesser to bring them down to 2 mm. I used the timber on the left with double sided tape so I could get them through the thicknesser. Now to glue up before I rip them off to put on the lid.

Very nice. | And some more to make you blush christos. Now we have put it into the lid frame and I have used my wood block plane and a small scraper plane to get it all flat. Then it was a simple job of 400 grit on the ROS. Now to do the under side of the lid.
