Beautiful Aussie Timbers - another batch!
Been busy with my latest batch of boxes which include a lovely mix of WA Sheoak, Ringed Gidgee, Coastal Banksia, Red Gum, Spotted Gum, Tassi Myrtle, Tassi Black Wood and
Coach Wood to name a few.

Very nice boxes, nice looking timber also. A bit hard to get good timber in Sydney I would imagine. Are the lids hinged or,..?

Boxes look great.
Can I ask what your preferred finish will be for these boxes please?
I am currently in the process of making a jewelry box and looking for ideas.
Cheers.

Hi Fumbler, When I first started making small boxes about 5 or 6 years ago I went to Trend Timbers, you would know where that is. I think I spent about $300 and walked out with hardly any timber at all.

Danish oil (or any oil type finish) makes the timber pop! I will also use hadwax oil as well on the lighter timbers.....

Thanks for posting, these boxes are spectacular. They make my utilitarian finger jointed boxes look rather sad. All the best.
