Default Beefwood & silver ash jewellery box

A similar design to my last one, this time in beefwood & SA. Finished with 1 coat of thin shellac as a sanding sealer, then 3 coats of Kunos oil.

Nice Alex, I love that design. Really liking the Beefwood you use. I never see it as an import to the US. Is it in low quantities. Again, nice work!

It's not one of the major timbers here, but there's a bit of it around. (Also, several species of timber are known as beefwood.) I believe in some parts of Oz it's almost considered a weed.

Nice one, another fine example for your students.

    Again, what is Kunos oil?

Now that is what I call thinking outside the box.

Very nice Alex, I like the colour combination. Beefwood is a local name for various grevillea species. Fairly plentiful up here, but not a lot of larger specimens around.

    Thanks for the kind words.

These are the distributors for Kunos oil

The importers are in Leura, Blue Mtns. Sorry I don't have their address, but they may be your next door neighbours, Tony.
