    Default Beryl's Bucket List

Beryl has a bucket list and one item on that list was a box to put her husbands and fathers war medals in. She gave me a size and chose Blackwood for the box. I didn't think the Blackwood was a suitable choice and thought it warranted something more formal so without telling her i made it from Red Cedar. Beryl also requested vintage style hardware and Maroon velvet lining to match her husbands beret. Maroon was not available so i bought the closest which was Burgundy. She wanted no fancy stuff, just a nice box.

Before i unwrapped it i told her what i had done and she looked skeptical but when she saw it she was glad i made the change, so much in fact that she ordered another exactly the same for her daughter.

Great job old son!! Beryl should be pleased!

The cedar is fairly pale looking. Is it Toona ciliata or Surian Cedar??

It's definately Red Cedar. Must be the lighting and the iPhone camera that make it look pale.
