    Default A new small box

    Another small box out of beach almond and damson. Fitted with shop made bandings, wooden hinges and latch out of silver ash. Dimensions are 150mm x 100mm x 45mm deep. Finished with three rubbed coats of sanding sealer and 3 coats of lacquer.

    I am new to forum.I hope to get a whole lot better than I am at the moment,and be able to make a box as good as this one.
    Well I can dream of getting that good!

    Everything about that box speaks to me. One day, I hope to be able to make a box one half as nice. Excellent job!

    Lovely work, very nice, just beautiful.

    I am about to embark on making my first box, to suit housing a micrometer. I have a small piece of solid Jarrah, 65x40x200 long, and was thinking of slitting it in two, then mill out the shape of the micrometer into the base and lid.

    Please tell me where one buys miniature brass butt hinges. I intend using a small disc magnet to keep the lid closed.
