    Default box catch

    Does anyone have a nice design for a wooden box catch? One with no metal bits or magnets. Mostly hidden would be good, maybe just a push button showing?

    You could try a flipper catch. See the final image here, and posts 100 and following in this thread for a full description and a WIP sequence.
    Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

    Noel, thanks for the link..That is truly amazing work! Perhaps a little more than I was looking for.

    Zenwood, I like the idea of the flipper catch. I'd need to miniaturise it. Maybe fit it inside the box with a release button on the outside. Maybe a hidden release. I'll give it some thought.
