Just a quick reminder, I will be sending out the submission details around 14 August, give or take a few days.
As I am participating as well as coordinating the challenge, I'd prefer not to see any entry (except my own) until then. All in the aim of as much fairness as possible.
thanks

In preparation, I have
* cleaned the shed (big job)
* drawn some designs
* chosen some stock timber
I'm a pretty lazy builder so the challenge was a great excuse and motivation to get off my bum and have a go. Winter is cold and wet in the Adelaide Hills so I can't garden or do much else outside so it's a great way for me to keep active instead of sitting next to the heater...
I'd love it if it became an annual winter event. Is there enough support in the community for that to happen?Shane Magrath

I have not even been able to turn any pens this last 4 weeks

More like the ####### freezer here. The glue won't cure and finishes play up and I didn't even feel it when I nicked my finger today, it didn't even bleed on the job, only found out when I washed up.

Submission Details for the Box Challenge of 2011.
Submissions are via email to:
[email protected] or [email protected]
For each box you are entering, please include:
1. Your Forum Name,
2. Which Twist the box is competing in,
3. The four photos described below, and
4. A short description of your box, eg, timber, finish, size, purpose, etc.
To make it easier, could you please send a separate email for each box being entered.
The Twists:
1. One box to have wooden hinges and/or latch/catch/handle (eg wooden hinges only or wooden hinges plus latch/catch/handle or just a latch/catch/handle)
2. One box to include a Found Object (explanation of 'Found Object' at the bottom of this post)
3. One box to be anything you like.
Photo 1 - Box closed
Photo 2 - Box open
Photo 3 - any view of the box with something to show perspective, eg a matchbox
Photo 4 - a clear closeup of a particularly neat feature of your box or a WIP photo
Photos sent must meet the same criteria as the Forum Photo standards as this will make it easier for you to send in your submission and for us to create the photo vote thread.
All entries must be sent via email to RufflyRustic on or before the finishing time and date, 6 pm Sunday, 28 August 2011.
If you have any questions about the photos, need help in resizing them or
anything else, just ask.
One Hint - Please don't get too close to the project when taking a picture
as sometimes the picture comes out fuzzy. It's better to stand back a
little, the clearer the picture is, the better for everyone as sometimes,
challenges such as these that depend on pictures can be won or lost on a
fuzzy photo.
Thanks & Good Luck!
