    Default box locks

i am making a sliding lid box of 12.6 mm New Guinea Rosewood. I need to be able to lock the sliding lid. where can I buy a good quality full mortise lock that will fit in the timber wall or should I get a half mortise lock fitted on the inside?
    many thanks

Box locks - you could try Box Maker's Brasswear

Have you had any luck finding small locks at your local hardware store or bunnies?

Do you need the lid to lock to stop unwanted access, or do you want the lid to 'lock' as in held in place? If it's to be held in place, could you use magnets?

    cheers

    thank you for your reply.
the need for the lock is to stop unwanted access. (mainly from little children around the place). I have not yet found a lock with the suitable dimensions and quality for this size timber except a half mortise lock from "Original Marquetry", England or Horton Brasses, USA and Whitechappel, USA.
